This soft, dreamy intro sets the stage for the strong powerful vocals of its lead singer. Electric guitar join in with the full support of the acoustic piano. A chorus line croons, “DO RIGHT, DO RIGHT” in the background as the lead sings, “If you want a do-right-all-day-woman/man.” And as the instruments decrescendos, the song ends just as smooth and poised as the opening of the piece. In 1967, it placed #2 on the <a href="http://www.recordresearch.com/about_joel.php" target="_blank">Joel Whitburn’s</a> top pop album chart. Even a certified RIAA-Gold album award.
